Use 3 / 4 plywood ..... go to the store a damaged piece to see how the rim was broken or badly scratched, or it can get for 1 / 2 price then .... supports the use of 16 "when mounted on a wall ..... get the metal brackets known as" L "brackets with a min .... 1 1 / 2 screws ......

Plywood is not really about weight, I would not buy the "would be stronger than wood, it walnut or oak. It would be too expensive. If you have a nice spruce or pine, and place two on the edge of the storage life significantly improves ! you can actually put on 1 side against the underside of the platform with a good wood glue and screws to make sure has the additional support. Enjoy. It will take some time to do it and save lots of money.

3 / 4 "particle board, use parentheses around each 16in, check your shelves and cupboards to see what they are, without doubt, chipboard.

Depending on the thickness. Just make sure that it fits task. If it in your garage that you do not want to buy oak shelves. If you're in your room, do not want MDF.

Make sure that the joints are secure and do not overspannen the load.

Although it is now important? If so, then I'll go with the oak. Very solid and looks great. There are wood rarest and stronger, but also more expensive and hard maple or Hawaiian koa. If appearance is not a problem, I would go with plywood, you can get 1 1 / 8 "inch thick. Use this sub-connector for 2 single-storey houses of the plant. Very sharp hard cheap, but ... If you have a shelf attach to the wall, you need to prepare the center for a stallion in any way.

depending on the width and length. Plywood is the strongest, but when you have a better support for cheaper alternatives a little more produced and used to be able to OSB, which is about half the cost
